The last three are like yours, made in my best friend's home ec class, usually by students who drop out before the end of the grading period, so they leave them behind, or by students who want extra projects to work on--extra pincushions are given to local quilting/sewing groups, I think. I just happened to be the benefactor of three of them over the years!<br />I have been known to try to put my coat on over my pincushion, and when I don't have it on, I've also been known to try to stick a pin in my arm!
